A guide to going under 3 hours
This site provides an overview of my successful attempt to run a sub 3 hour debut marathon. All the information on this site was researched and used by me when I ran my first marathon in 2005 in a time of 2:59:39.
The primary resource on the site is the 6 month training guide I put together and followed. Running a sub hour marathon as a novice runner at any stage, let alone on debut, is challenging, and the program ramps up very quickly, which won't be feasible for everyone. Please also read this disclaimer regarding the information presented on this website.
The website also contains information on the general nutrition guidelines I followed, as well as specific tips on running and equipment that most runners pick up through experience.
All the best,
Michael
